Posua (পছোৱা)〔:as:পচোৱা#〕 is the annual Bohag Bihu celebration at National Institute of Technology Silchar〔http://www.nits.ac.in/campuslife/festivals.php〕 in Silchar, Assam, India. The festival marks the New Year celebration of the Hindu calendar during the month of Baisakh, which is traditionally a time of celebration and feasting. It is celebrated throughout India in various forms such as Rongali Bihu in Assam, Baisakhi in Punjab, Pohela Boisakh in West Bengal and so on. Posua is a celebration in NIT Silchar on the onset of all these festivals. ==History== The annual Rongali Bihu celebration of NIT Silchar started in the year 2012. It was an initiative by the students of the college, with the help of the faculty to celebrate this festival of Assam for the beginning of a new year. Students and faculty who are unable to be with their families on the occasion celebrate the festival in the college premises by creating a homelike environment. An annual magazine "Borhomthuri"〔http://www.scribd.com/doc/236428998/Borhomthuri#scribd〕 is also published every year under Posua.
